My Story ... so far ...
It all started with Yoga ...
I’ve had a pretty committed yoga practice since January 2012.
Predominantly Bikram at first… then I added a dash of Yin… and a slice of Vinyasa Flow. But Kundalini just. kept. appearing. EVERYWHERE!
It was in the books I was reading, the podcasts I was listening to, and even the celebrities I followed started practicing it. I was curious! I tried to find a local class with no luck… then, just like that, a teacher appeared at my local studio. Thanks, Universe. 🙌🏻. It must have only been my 3rd or 4th class ... I was in Cat-Cow with dynamic breathing ... when I felt what can only be described as a band of energy right across my face above my top lip. “What is this sorcery?” I thought!. And the experiences kept coming -
each one crazy /amazing.
Following the breadcrumbs
Looking back, my life path has really been about following the breadcrumbs:
What makes me happy? Do that.
What keeps me centred? Do that.
What helps when I feel down, anxious, or frustrated? Do that.
What improves my mood? Do that!
I’m grateful I listened to the nudges and pings along the way, because they all led me to a pretty substantial toolkit for navigating life! “Life is A LOT.” <- in the words of my good friend Claire. And I think we need as much as possible in our arsenal of coping mechanisms. For me, that includes yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, cold exposure, music, movement, and energy work - all of which have supported me at different times. That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing them with you.
Teacher Training & Beyond
When I decided to embark on a Yoga Teacher Training to deepen my practice, I knew it had to be Kundalini. Even though it was the style I’d practised least, it had given me profound insight, clarity, calm, and accelerated transformation.
It was a dream come true to complete 200hr Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training with Guru Singh and Brett Larkin of Uplifted Yoga. I qualified in early 2021.
Further study - around 300 hours - with RA MA Yoga Institute in LA includes five intensive, week-long immersions, confirmed these were the teachings I wanted to share.
I went on to complete a 50hr Yin Yoga training with Jamie Strathairn, founder of Yoga 8 in Melbourne - a lifelong scholar of yoga, anatomy, and philosophy.
To deepen my ability to support women, I became a certified Menopause Practitioner studying in 2025 under Dr Wendy Sweet and I completed a 200hr Embodied Yoga Life Coach/Somatic certification - studying again, with Brett Larkin - weaving somatic movement with deep embodiment practices and frameworks like internal parts, energetic frequency, polarity, archetypes, chakras and yogic philosophy principals as they appear in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - (Ishvara pranidhana, tapas, svadhyaya) for lasting personal transformation.
Expanding the toolkit
I completed my Reiki Level 1 in Melbourne with my Kundalini teacher Abbey Fox, and Level 2 in Glasgow with the lovely Lorna McLean.
Sound Healing, though, has always been special for me. Not sure whether it’s my years of yoga, meditation, and energy work, or just my musical background (I played a different instrument every year growing up - sorry Mum!), but I seem to go on a journey every time I’m immersed in sound.
Training with The Sound Healing Academy felt like a natural step.
My 500-hour Double Diploma qualifies me as an Integral Sound Healing Therapist, enabling me to work both one-to-one and with groups.
I never truly knew what I wanted to “do” with my life. And I still don’t know where this will all lead. But for the first time, I feel like I’m on the right path - even if it’s only the very beginning.
For now, I’ll keep following the breadcrumbs.
